Contra Costa County Sheriff Explorer/Cadet

DESCRIPTION:

The Sheriff's Cadet Unit is a volunteer law enforcement explorer post whose primary purpose is to give college, high school and junior high school students a chance to begin training themselves for a career in law enforcement and community service.  

REQUIREMENTS:

An interest in a career in law enforcement and community service.
Minimum of 14 years of age - maximum of 20 years of age.
Maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average.
Be in good physical and mental condition.
Have good police and driving records.
Attend two (2) meetings per month.
Participate in no less than 20 hours per month (including meetings).   DUTIES: Contra Costa Sheriff's Cadets perform a variety of duties to assist the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office, it's contract cities, and the County of Contra Costa while being trained for a career in law enforcement and community service. Cadets participate in all areas of the county and in all Divisions of the Sheriff's Office, including Patrol ride along, Detention, Communications, Investigations, Administration, Service and Criminalistics Laboratory.  

UNIFORM: A uniform is required and is provided by the Sheriff's Office
